Twelve Days Later...

Work has finally begun to pick up a little bit. A very little bit Kate has still been out sick, but Lucy has given us some leads to start working on. We’ve begun interviewing staff members who work with Te Papa’s social media. Between holding the interviews, transcribing notes from them, and working on re-writing our methodology for the final report, at least we haven’t been doing nothing.

Even so… this morning we had a brief discussion that went like this: “Okay. The revised methodology is due Tuesday morning. We have plenty of time to get it done, but we really need to get started.” We each sat down at our desks, opened up the Googledoc, and got to work. Two hours later, it was done. We had two interviews today and one tomorrow. Those aren’t going to keep us busy all day. And we won’t know what else to work on until next week when our third sponsor finally gets back from holiday. I shouldn’t complain, except that I continue to grow worried that it’s going to come back to bite us later.

No matter. Here’s a picture of me hanging out with some trolls!

You may recognize these guys from The Hobbit. Their names are Tom, Burt, and William, if I remember correctly. They’re on loan to Te Papa from Weta Caves, which is the company responsible for most of the props/special effects in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. (Also Avatar (the one with the blue people) and a few other things.) They’re supposed to be going away next week, though. So I had to get a picture before they left.
